“This is my first cabbage! You know, a lot of times they’re kind of soft, but this one is solid! It’s going to be good eatin’!“ “What are you going to make with it?” “Well, this one I’m giving to my parents. You have to give the first one away or you just spoil the whole spirit of gardening.”
This is why we can’t have nice things 😤 They’re 19 years old and already so filled with bitterness, I hope they’re able to find happiness and relief and growth.
Ever walk into a home and have strong emotional
reaction? Maybe it made you feel warm
and welcome, or awed and inspired. Maybe
you have walked into someone’s home and suddenly felt calm, like any need to
rush through the day has disappeared.
Moreover, that home simply seems like an extension of the owner–that
somehow the person and the home are intimately connected.
That’s what’s at the heart of Aesthetic Magick.
It’s the use of the symbolic and the sensory to create a palpable
emotional and magickal atmosphere. It
can be applied to various areas of any lifestyle: clothing, home decor, food, and hobbies. Most magickal practices involve a very active
element–casting a spell and unleashing it out into the universe. Aesthetic Magick instead concentrates on the
background, on creating permanent environmental factors. It bears a strong semblance to a lot of
cottage and kitchen witchcraft–indeed it was born out of my own kitchen witch
practices.
