this spell is super easy and takes about 30 seconds – perfect for anyone with a busy life who wants to sprinkle a bit of magical in to their daily routine!!
1) make a cup of tea/coffee/whatever it is you like to drink in the morning
2) when it is ready to drink, trace a circle around the rim of the mug with your finger, focussing on your intent for today, e.g getting some revision done, or performing well in an interview.
3) choose your pentacle. I tend to use the earth one for most days to channel the goddess and to ground me for the new day, but you can use whichever one you feel best suits your intent.
4) (if using the earth pentacle) place your finger on the rim of the mug at the top, and travel down in a diagonal line to the bottom right of the mug. this is the first line of the pentacle, and as you draw it, focus on one goal or outcome you want for the day, e.g “I will finish my work on time” or “I will be able to deal with whatever happens today”
5) draw the remaining 4 lines with your finger in the same way, and with each line focous on a different goal for the day.
6) drink up! feel the energy of your intent flowing in to you.
7) quickly draw the banishing pentacle of the element over the cup before the mug gets cold, just to make sure there is no residual energy that can mess with future spells or hang around your house.
You literally can’t use the words “don’t” “won’t” or “can’t” in your affirmations. So don’t. Here’s why:
THEY BACKFIRE!
If your affirmation is “I’m not gonna be late for work” the universe is actually hearing “I’m gonna be late for work.” When you output a positive statement, such as “I am ready with more than enough time to spare,” you get positive reaction back. But “don’t” comes back to the universe as “do”. The law of attraction states that putting “not” into any affirmation
“I am not ugly”
“I am not fat”
“I will not fail this class”
Will bring back an adverse effect. All the universe can hear is
“I am ugly”
“I am fat”
“I will fail this class”
Because the LOA doesn’t understand the negative word in the middle of your positive statement. Try instead:
“I am beautiful”
“I am healthy”
“I succeed in all my schoolwork”
And please think about this when writing your spells!!!
So I found a lot of keys around my house. Most of them don’t belong to a door/lock that I can access now (without trespassing, that is) so they don’t have a mundane use.
But I haven’t thrown them away because I’m sure I can do something cool with them. And, you know, magic.
Here’s the thing: I can’t find anything interesting that uses a key/keys as a magical item.
I think I can come up with some charms but when I say I have a lot of them I mean A LOT.
So if you could help with some cute ideas it would be awesome! May as well be interesting to someone else.
Here are some of my thoughts:
🔑 Enchant a key to keep others from seen you.
🔑 Enchant one for protection.
🔑 Put some in a yellow or green thread to allow business oporunities to come into your life.
🔑 Put your negative feelings/memories into a key and lock them away.
🔑 Put sigils on them and activate by simulating opening a lock. Deactivate the same way.
🔑 Use them in spells to bind someone.
🔑 To curse: Use a random key as a sort of poppet (representation of someone) and put it in the wrong padlock. The intent is that they don’t fit anywhere and cannot move. It may make the person feel very uncomfortable.
🔑 Give them the power to open/close the wards around your space. (But be careful if you lose them and put boundaries as to who can use them)
🔑 On that note, put them in your pet’s collar so they don’t disturb the magical barriers you may be using at the time.
🔑 Use as a talisman against entities that want to enter your space.
So a lot of us are out of the broom closet so to speak, but many of have to be careful of being public because of the views of the communities we live in. What I propose is a symbol we can put on flyers or in shop windows that means “You’re safe here.”
I don’t believe that a pentagram would work because it’s got so much stigma attached and it’s really easily identifiable. Ideally, we can find something that is not tradition specific. I don’t know. I just want us to be able to put feelers out into the community without painting a target on ourselves for intolerant jerk faces, and I want witchlings that are seeking guidance to be able to do so in a safe environment. I mean, how badass would it be to find a little symbol of solidarity in your favorite coffee shop or bookstore??
Reblog with suggestions!
A witches’ foot. It has been used historically like this.
In one of the grimoires I’ve read through, it references this being a secret sign to mark on sacred spaces for the group.
Love it, passing it around. Will be wearing it and hanging it at my house and teashop once I own one.
We could also use something like the Ellis Sigil but that’s a little bit complicated… What about tarot symbols, I found this great list of symbols that we could use to denominate a safe space
The World is a good one to use and pretty inconspicuous
Worshiping deities from multiple different pantheons is always a balance, one that I personally am not willing to exert the energy for! I know plenty of people do it though, it’s just a matter of research and respect 💕
It seems cute! I don’t expect witch shows to be super accurate/true to what the craft is like irl so I tend to enjoy witch shows better than some people. Which is totally fair, I don’t expect everyone to have that attitude ☺️
