Hello! I’m a Witch, and I’ve noticed a weird phenomenon that happens to me a lot – Animals seem to adore me. Whenever I’m at an Aquarium or Zoo, the animals always come up near the glass, as if they’re trying to see me. And recently, a dog was playing fetch with its owner, until it ran up to me and set the Frisbee down. So I seriously just started playing Frisbee with a random dog for 5 minutes (his owner was cool with it). This always seems to happen. Is there a Witchy explanation for that?

I have something very similar happen, especially with animals who have a distrust of humans (due to neglect, abuse, their personality, etc.). I seem to give off a vibe that tells those animals that I’m safe/trustworthy. I repeatedly shock their owners when I earn their trust so quickly (but I NEVER push it. I let the animal decide and just make myself available to whatever attention they choose to give me).

Now is it because I’m a witch, or because a certain type of person is drawn to the craft? I don’t know. Maybe a bit of both. I think I give off a healing energy that draws both people and animals to me.

Hope this rambling answer makes sense!

I’ve started calling this Faunamancy/ faunamancer, making you a beast charmer or animal whispererI couldn’t find a term and definition anywhere on the internet before creating one. I’m classifying this as a sort of combination between charisma and empath magic that is specific to animals!

Cool!!!

The -mancy suffix (from Old French -mancie, via late Latin -mantia from Greek manteia ‘divination.’) is used for forms of divination. Not every magic is a -mancy.

Interesting point! Is there a suffix/term that you feel would be more accurate/a better fit?

Lessee. If you want to talk about the practice of/with animals, -praxy might suit. Or if it’s more about belief, there’s -doxy. Or you could just call the act “animal whispering” or “beast charming”.

(Personally, I find naming practices to be more of a lark than an essential part of the practice, but I recognize others might feel differently.)

Thanks for sharing your knowledge, it’s cool to see stuff like this 🙂

(I agree, I don’t really use labels in my craft. The only way I find it applicable is finding people with similar interests online!)

<pterodactyl screech> YOU DUMB FUCKS ARE GOING TO KILL SOMEONE

Here’s a list of posts about the dangers of EOs

This one probably has the most pertinent information about EOs and how they gonna kill people [x]

On learning about EOs from cults [x]

On using EOs (more informative, less aggravated screeching) [x]

Another, which contains links, because I really do shout about this a lot. [x]

Sadly, in my experience, no matter how much you tell these morons they’re all completely brainwashed by the “I’m so enlightened with crunchy granola superpowers that nothing mother earth provides can hurt me” nonsense that there is little reasoning with them.
