Solar Spell for Good Luck

I don’t consider myself a particularly gifted spellcaster, however I do have a couple spells I use that harness the raw power and energy of the sun to try and improve things around me, or even just to have a good and productive day. These spells don’t require any materials, however I do sometimes light a candle or burn something in an effort to make an energy Locus, kind of like marking the target for the Solar energy to flow into you.

Safety: Remember that this is Solar energy, you have to respect the sun. It is incredibly powerful and vital to all life on earth. No Nature diety or embodiment or spirit or anything else witches celebrate could exist without the sun. It is imperative that you understand this before you are able to draw energy from the sun. Don’t want anyone out there getting burned.

Part of this respect is to have an understanding of the sun, how it warms our planet, how sunlight travels through the Earth’s atmosphere; how the sun constantly bombards the earth with radiation; how the sun and our rotation around it affects Zodialogical influences (which is a hypothesis of mine called Gravity Waves, and how the position of the planets in your lifetime have affected you,) et cetera. I’m not saying you should write a ten page essay about the sun before you do anything related to it, but. This is easily the strongest source of energy near to us on this plane and elsewhere.

How to cast:

• This particular spell is best cast in the morning, right after the sun has risen. Because this is a pretty simple spell that doesn’t require a ton of energy, so you definitely do not want the full blast of the suns rays as they are around noon and afterward. Once we get to more heavyweight, high-voltage evocations and enchantments we’ll talk about Noon. But for right now, this spell is best cast after sunrise as the sun’s rays have to pass through the most amount of atmosphere relative to your position on the earth they will until sunset. This means that the effects the spell has will slowly increase until about 9, be at their strongest at Noon, and begin to diminish slowly around 3.
• As I said you don’t have to have anything prepared, but some good things to remember about the sun: it likes yellow. I have a tapestry hanging in my room that makes the whole place glow yellow when natural lights shines through it, and I also have a bright yellow altar cloth. If you have an altar or candles or anything of that sort, it might behoove you to use them, but that’s totally optional. The sun doesn’t really discriminate, but it can help if you create these bright locii of energy through which the sun can find you and you can better capture energy.
• The evocation is simply. You want to ask for something good to happen to you today. Picture bad influences and spirits being deflected away from you by a golden essence that surrounds you. Picture your day to day activities made better and more enjoyable by a glimmering light. Imagine every problem and difficulty you encounter made easier and approached with more perspected by an shining source of energy. This is the energy you must draw from. This is Solar energy.
• Hold your arms to the side, palms facing upward, and look at the ceiling, sky, what have you. Don’t look directly at the sun though, it’s both rude and bad for your eyes.
• Now, Say:

“Heat of the Star and Light of the Sun, grant me (peace, prosperity, happiness, productivity, fortune, growth, focus, etc.) until my day is done. I ask but this, with humility and grace, let no shadows furrow my face. And if it harms none, so mote it be.”

• Once you’ve said this, take a deep breath and imagine this warm, glowing energy filling your body. You can go about your day from here on.
