If anyone is curious about wildlife tracking and lives in the greater Seattle area, there’s two cool little tracking classes/clubs two days each month. One is based out of Seattle and one based is out of the Snoqualmie valley.

It’s free but donations (of ~$5) are welcome and help cover gas costs for the people volunteering to run/teach the classes. I think it’s a great way to step into the world of tracking! [X]

not exactly a witchy question, but I’ve recently been having some serious problems with my health (past 2 months) and was wondering what experiences you had of being undiagnosed. I know many people have gone undiagnosed a lot longer than this but I’m becoming really frustrated that my health is failing and the most my doctors are doing is shrugging and taking a guess. They finally think they’ve found it and I have medication but I worry it’s still just a guess. any advice or similar experience?

Hi! I went undiagnosed and under-treated for about three years, undiagnosed with decent treatment for a year and a half, and was unofficially diagnosed and properly treated for a year, and have been officially diagnosed and properly treated since May.

Five and a half years before I tested positive for Lyme Disease (although I’m in the process of getting diagnosed with CIRS as well now).

I understand your struggles, I really do. So many doctors and specialists, where our appointments ended with a referral to a different specialist, a suggestion to take anti-depressants or anxiety meds, or a haphazardly slapped on diagnosis that was completely lazy.

  • Research it and see if it feels right, or if they’re missing something.
  • Consider the fact that some illnesses can mimic others symptom wise.
  • Also consider the fact that some illnesses are often tied to co-infections or other chronic issues. (For example, I have Late Stage Chronic Lyme Disease. But I also have 7 chronic co-infections and likely have CIRS. These all commonly go together)
  • Talk with others who have gotten that diagnosis, whether it was misdiagnosed or not.
  • See another doctor and get it double checked. Find someone who will test for it.
  • Find a doctor who will tell you all of the possible things that could be causing your symptoms and is willing to test as many of those paths as they can.

I didn’t find any real answers or find anyone to run every possible test until I started seeing a Naturopath. There are some great Western Medicine doctors out there, but I wasn’t able to find any of them. They just didn’t have the answers or didn’t seem to care. If you do go the Naturopathic medicine route, I’d recommend finding a ND who understands the value of holistic medicine and of Western Medicine, when it’s needed.

I wish you the best of luck on your diagnosis journey!

I’ve gotten requests for this so many times, so here is (finally) a list of blogs that I enjoy following/have similar content to me. If you aren’t included in this list but we’re mutuals that interact, it’s 110% because I’m brainfoggy bitch and it is not because you don’t deserve to be mentioned ❤
