Everyone going shopping on Black Friday, be aware of three things:
The retail workers are working 12 hours shifts. We are threatened with losing our jobs if we don’t show up unless we’re dying in the hospital. I had an assistant manager show up with fucking strep because he would’ve been fired otherwise. Yes, he did infect 7 and hospitalize 2 coworkers; who knows how many members of the public he infected.
The stores have, maybe, 5 of that special cheap thing you’re after. Corporate does this on purpose, and stores are not allowed to order enough. The prices aren’t even that much lower. They lie about how expensive something is to fool you into thinking you’re getting a discount. You aren’t.
Most of the workers you will come across will be new hires for the sole purpose of being bodies for about three months before they’re fired. They actually don’t know anything because they’ve been working there for maybe two weeks, and have had no real training. I was once hired at Staples a week before Black Friday and expected to know how to deal with phones, coupons, the online ordering site, and AS400 after five 6-hour shifts. This is the kind of person you will likely be dealing with at Black Friday.
Do me and my retail family a favor and don’t shop Black Friday. Any company that needs a sale day like Black Friday to get their sales out of the red doesn’t deserve to be in business.
This also goes for anyone that works shipment too. We’re suddenly expected to stay as late as they want you to even if they know you don’t have a car and rely on a ride to get you to and from work and know you can’t stay late. Shipment workers will suddenly start getting berated for not getting things done and it is by far the most stressful time to be a shipment worker for any store. Especially when they throw in new hires that don’t know how to process things and are expected to work at the same pace as the people that have worked there for a while.
Retail is shit around the holidays, especially Black Friday
ok fellow millenials, it’s time to kill black friday
LET’S KILL BLACK FRIDAY

Hi! I’d recommend looking through the #comfort spell or #pain spell and finding one that you can alter to your needs (or using multiple as inspiration to create your own spell). You could also make/send a sigil. Just be sure to get consent! ❤
First of all, I firmly believe that Hestia wants you to put your health and happiness first. If any of these don’t fit with your life/are things that will make you unhappy, simply don’t do them! For example, not all of us were born into loving families, or have time/money to donate. I just hope this will inspire you to find your own ways to feel more connected to Hestia if you so chose this holiday season ❤
Friends/Family (the loved ones in your life):
Bake together.
Have a potluck/feast where everyone brings what they have and you create a meal together.
Have a harvest feast filled with local goods and produce. Support local businesses and your loved ones at the same time!
Spend a day crafting together.
Gift homemade/handcrafted items instead of store bought.
Do a gift exchange – add limitations/themes that feel good and genuine!
Give gifts to the people you love not because of social obligations but because you were thinking of them!
Day-to-day life when you’re out and about:
Pay for someone else’s coffee.
Find someplace cozy and sit there, enjoying the moment.
Leave bigger tips than usual – especially during the holiday rush.
Hold the door open for somebody.
Buy some flowers and give them to people who look like they could use a smile (yourself included!)
Help people with their groceries/bags (but be safe about it and use common sense).
Practice kindness and patience while driving.
Compliment others.
Day-to-day life at home + what to do on your own:
Go to bed earlier than usual.
Make yourself a cuppa and take the time to savor it.
Make a hearth fire or light a candle.
Bake yourself something yummy.
Take advantage of the seasonal decor and use it to decorate your altar.
Cuddle up under some blankets and enjoy some cheesy, heart-warming movies.
Take up knitting or crocheting.
Tidy up your home/living space.
Turn of all the lights before bed and spend some time in candle light.
Ways to help others (not already listed):
Donate toys or other gift-able items.
Participate in a food drive.
Offer to sponsor a kid for their holiday (small gifts and maybe a bigger one).
Send cards/post cards to seniors or sick children.
Write thank you notes and leave baked goods/sweets for trash collectors, mail carriers, and other people who’s work you often take for granted.
Ask homeless people if they need any food or layers as the weather gets warmer.
Volunteer at a soup kitchen or somewhere similar.
I’ve found that the spirit of this season (thankfulness and caring) makes me feel closer to Her and I enjoy devoting acts to Her, creating Her altar and praying to Her during the cold winter months.
But, most importantly, do whatever makes you feel content, kind, happy, and closer to Her ❤ I’d love to hear your ideas!
I tend to cleanse and charge my crystals in the same way (I’m all about that low-energy life), so that involves avoiding sunlight and water, because some crystals react to those.
I typically use smoke or the full moon for cleansing.
I most often use a charging board [X] [X] or my energy to charge them 🙂
A local produce farm had a thanksgiving sale so for $20 I was able to make butternut squash soup (squash, apples, carrots, onions, celery), glazed cinnamon butternut squash, roasted beets and sautéed kale! All of the fruits and veggies are from the valley I live in 😋💕
