Okay so there’s a lot of panicking on my dash and through some searching here’s what’s going on (as far as I can tell):
1.
The tumblr app has been removed from the apple app store (some reports
say it’s been removed on the android side of things too, but others
say it hasn’t)
2. This is because of too much “inappropriate content”, largely due to the massive amount of porn bots
3.
Tumblr has released a shoddily put together bot in the hopes of
eliminating them. Many legitimate blogs (particularly those who post those
aforementioned “inappropriate” things) have been terminated in the
process, but multiple people have reported that emailing the staff will
get your blog back, though it is a pain in the ass
There’s nothing
out there to suggest tumblr is shutting down. You most likely do not
need to fear for your blog unless it is a porn blog (or possibly a gore
blog) and even if you do get deactivated, emailing the staff should
return your blog to you. There’s really no need to panic
If
you’re still worried, you can always exchange contact info/alternate
social media with people. If you want to keep track of me specifically, I am also on twitter under the same username or there is always AO3 (if I do disappear off the face of the blue hellscape without warning, leave a comment on any fic of mine saying you want to get in touch and we will make it work)
