OKAY so I’ve had major phone anxiety for years but I just got a phone call from a new pharmacy and I handled it super well! I didn’t get shaky or nervous when my phone started ringing, and I was able to be friendly and to the point during the whole conversation. I’ve been actively working on getting to this level of anxiety reduction for years so it’s super nice to see where I’m at now.
I also managed an hour long FaceTime conversation with some relatives in Europe last week, which also gives me anxiety.
Yay! Actively working on handling my anxiety is actually providing results in this area.
Shout out to disabled people who aren’t “inspirational,” who are unemployed or stuck with a job they don’t like, who didn’t do well academically and/or had to drop out of school, who aren’t in a position to live and take care of themselves independently even if they would like to, whose lives didn’t work out in the way they were hoping for, who haven’t “overcome” their disability in the way society tells us we’re supposed to. You exist, you’re worthwhile, and you matter.
