Care to debate abortion?
Nah
Mood.
-VThis reminds me of a party I went to last year. I was standing with some friends, chatting, and someone said something that indirectly implied that sexism exists. Some trivial recounting of the basic facts of daily life for most women. Something so mild, so uncontroversial, so mundane that I don’t even remember what it was.
Suddenly, this man standing on the outskirts of our conversational circle piped up with “actually, I think men are more discriminated against than women these days.”
All conversation died.
I turned to look at him and he had this smug, insufferable grin on his face, relishing this moment, expecting us to waste our time and energy refuting this ridiculous thing he had just said.
The Devil’s Advocate was among us.
And, in my mind, I saw the next 15+ minutes playing out. The parade of facts and statistics in a vain attempt to defend ourselves, our gender, and to prove that misogyny is real. The glib, snide denials from some shithead who is getting off on our pain and frustration. The Gish Gallop of bullshit that would take a whole evening to properly dismantle. It was depressing and overwhelming. I hated it. I had to kill it before it began.
So I looked him dead in the eye and I said “OK,“ shrugged, and just walked away.
Nothing I have ever said to another human being has ever been so crushing. As I walked away, I watched the smug grin vanish and confusion and anxiety set in. The rest of the group turned their backs to him and carried on as if he had never spoken – as if he was invisible. He was still staring at me when I walked over to another friend and told her what he had said. I pointed him out for her and made direct eye contact with him while we both laughed.
tl;dr: Don’t feed the troll. Let it perish, cold and hungry, in the wasteland of your indifference. It is weak and you are strong. Live your best life.
Hi so this is a little embarrassing and not super witch related but I’ve had some trouble as of late with my depression and so I haven’t been able to do much for myself. I made a dentist appointment and actually went to it today (there was a lot of crying in my car. I was wondering if maybe you and anyone else could compile me a list of things that spoonie witches like me can do for basic hygiene? I often forget to even just brush my teeth. You can totally ignore this, I know it’s not witchy
I think you might find this post helpful ❤
Hi! I love your bedridden witch posts, and I’ve been interested in Amphitrite for a while (dreams of rushing water and monsters helps), but I’m disabled and don’t live near the sea, I live near a pretty spiritually active river though, can I do anything with this/her of should I cut my losses?
I personally think you can be connected to the ocean/deities of the ocean without being near it. And wild waters can certainly help with that 🙂

Do you have any tips on how to Come Out as a Witch? My parents are Orthodox, but they accepted me for being LGBT, so I hope they’ll accept me for this. Any tips?
I never told my parents I’m LGBT or a witch so I’m likely not the best person to ask! Wishing you the best of luck 💕

A short story about Persephone’s myth that I wrote this summer.
Hey OP… I ADORE this

Coriander seeds, 7 health benefits and 3 remedies!
1. Reduces the amount of bad cholesterol and increases the amount of good cholesterol in your blood.
2. Great anti-diabetic properties, it lowers blood glucose levels helping to keep them regulated.
3. Great for the immune system, packed full of Vitamin C.
4. Strong antibacterial properties, especially good for keeping salmonella type infections at bay.
5. Has many of the most important minerals including Iron, which makes them a very good treatment for Anemia.
6. Helps to regulate the menstrual cycle by stimulating the endocrine glands to release and maintain proper hormone balance, this can even alleviate some of the pain.
7. High calcium content makes them helpful for those suffering from Osteoporosis.

Three quick remedial uses:
1. For treating cold & flu infections amongst other bacterial infections, crush a heaped tablespoon of Coriander seeds in a Mortar & Pestle until the seeds are all broken down into husk flakes and powder.
- Pour the crushed/ground mixture into a cup of water and stir.
- Let it sit for two minutes so the powder and minerals can be absorbed
- Next use a mini sieve/strainer to separate the husks from the water by pouring it into a new cup with the strainer resting on the top of the cup
- The husks can be thrown in the bin now
- Now you should be left with a peppery tasting water with high antibacterial properties!
- Drink one glass in the morning every day at first sign of cold/infection till it subsides.
- This can also be taken each day regularly to maintain a healthy Immune system due to the Vitamin C content, much like a very cheap and easy to make Vitamin C supplement drink!
2. For women who suffer from irregular or abnormally painful PMS, consider adding them to your diet in curries, rice, noodles etc. Also a quick recipe for a Coriander seed drink:
- At night take a handful of seeds and put them in a jug of cold water.
- Let them soak in over night and in the morning remove the seeds and drink the water throughout the day with each meal, this will help regulate your hormones to ensure a regular period.
3. For aiding digestion and reducing IBS/Indigestion symptoms make either the powdered or infused water above but warm it slightly and drink after your large meal, whether lunch or dinner.

Quick bonus, powdered Coriander seed mixed with Honey is great for treating acne and takes no more than 2 minutes to make, just grind the seeds down in a Mortar and stir in some honey and apply as a 10 minute mask on problem areas!
Caution – If adding them to your diet for it’s diabetes regulating properties, consider talking to your doctor first as they can reduce blood sugar quite a lot. Also anyone with food allergies especially to nuts/seeds should be absolutely sure they can eat Coriander/Coriander seeds before adding them to their diet in any way.
(:
