Hi Mouse, I hope you’re having a good day! I have a question related to hellenic polytheism. Recently I started working with Athena, but (idk why) I feel like I offended Her during our first interaction… Maybe I didn’t show Her enough respect (I knelt at the beginning but then sat down), maybe my offering wasn’t appropriate, or maybe it’s my current drop of productivity that displeases Her. How can I turn this around? How do I apologise properly? (sorry for the long message)

Hi, and thanks! I personally find that you have to do something major to offend the Theoi. When in doubt, it doesn’t hurt to be extra respectful and give some offerings and just communicate what’s going on for you.

What I would do: Present an offering and do a semi-formal prayer that becomes me explaining what is going on/what I think is going on and apologizing if necessary. Then thanking them for their time/listening and ending the prayer. See how everything feels after that.

(I don’t always pray kneeling or give traditional offerings or follow a formal prayer format but I’ve found that as long as I’m respectful about it, everything works out!)

everything i see for witchcraft is visualisation this and visualisation that. i have aphantasia, so it’s really bumming me out. do you think visualisation is really that important?

I think it’s really helpful, but not necessary. You can always use physical things to help you out (holding and feeling a crystal, etc.). Anything that helps you find your magic! The wonderful thing about witchcraft is that you can customize it to work for you 🙂

Here’s some info for anyone that doesn’t know what Aphantasia is [X]

Hello! I’m a Witch, and I’ve noticed a weird phenomenon that happens to me a lot – Animals seem to adore me. Whenever I’m at an Aquarium or Zoo, the animals always come up near the glass, as if they’re trying to see me. And recently, a dog was playing fetch with its owner, until it ran up to me and set the Frisbee down. So I seriously just started playing Frisbee with a random dog for 5 minutes (his owner was cool with it). This always seems to happen. Is there a Witchy explanation for that?

I have something very similar happen, especially with animals who have a distrust of humans (due to neglect, abuse, their personality, etc.). I seem to give off a vibe that tells those animals that I’m safe/trustworthy. I repeatedly shock their owners when I earn their trust so quickly (but I NEVER push it. I let the animal decide and just make myself available to whatever attention they choose to give me).

Now is it because I’m a witch, or because a certain type of person is drawn to the craft? I don’t know. Maybe a bit of both. I think I give off a healing energy that draws both people and animals to me.

Hope this rambling answer makes sense!

Hi! I’m a new witch and I wanted to know if there were any special rules for chanting? Like, how to chant? Do you always have to incorporate an item/crystal/herb/etc? Do you have to chant a certain number of times? Or for a certain amount of time? Stuff like that. Thanks!

There probably are, but I’ve always done my own thing and have always had success.

Some chants tell you how many times to do it, and if not I just do it until it feels right/complete.

I like to have something to focus my energy and magic, but that doesn’t have to be a set thing. It could be holding my hands in a certain way, or burning a candle, or holding a crystal.
