I’ve had a lot of people ask me what crystals are best for this stressful, but exciting time of year. So here are some of the stones I recommend for the start of school!
Magic resources for all my student witches out there! Remember, magic isn’t going to save your grades if you don’t also put the effort in. But it can certainly support you through your journey as a hardworking student ❤
(This is my first spell I’ve posted here- I hope you like it!!)
You will need:
One yellow/white candle
Sage essential oil, diluted preferred
Lilac essential oil, diluted preferred
Rosemary essential oil, diluted preferred
Something to carve with
Sigil symbolizing wisdom and focus
Steps:
Cast a circle, ground yourself, or do whatever it is that you do before performing magic.
Take your carving tool and carve your sigil into the front and into two of the sides of the candle.
Imagine a situation in which you are both productive and successful, where you are writing your essay without hesitation or swiftly doing your share of a group presentation. You feel little stress, your creative juices are flowing, and you feel no need to procrastinate. Hold onto this vision.
Keeping your intent in mind, rub your essential oils into your carved sigils, one at a time. Make sure to exercise proper safety when doing this as essential oils can be dangerous when undiluted!
Light your candle and keep it near you during your study session. Allow the energies to fuel your motivation.
Needed: – A favorite pen or pencil – White, blue and orange/yellow candles – A small container to put your pen + other ingredients into – Carnelian – Lapis Lazuli – Quartz – Blue thread (black works too) (I recommend embroidery floss)
Steps: – light your candles. White for the spell, blue for wisdom and memory, and orange or yellow for studies and focus. – take your thread and wrap it around your pen or pencil in “X”s. you can just do part of it, or you can do all of it, that’s up to you. – put the pen inside the box with your carnelian and lapis. – seal the container and put your hands on top of it. – focus energy through the container to the inside to trap it in. – blow out your candles – Leave the container overnight – pull out your pen/cil and use it anytime you need to study or take a test!

So, I’ve set a goal of reading thirty-six books about magick before the Vernal Equinox of this year. I decided to do a small charm to help with my focus, information retention, and reading speed.
It’s designed for people like me who read and study on tablets. I’m including notes on ways to work it with a regular book or notebook, though. I kept it as simple as possible. The focus is channeling power into your studies.
For this charm, you will need The Magician card from a Tarot deck. Tradition associates this card with the airy intellect of Mercury in Aries.
I know some folks haven’t got access to a deck, or don’t want to remove a card. You can always print a (public domain!) Tarot image from a website. You could also make your own representation of The Magician.
You’ll also need your tablet, notebook, or the book you’re reading. Any of those will work for this. You should have your usual note-taking pen. It can be a highlighter, tablet stylus – whatever you use. If you use none of those things, your index finger will work.
To begin the charm, take a few deep breaths and think about what you want to achieve in your studies. Think about why you desire this knowledge.
Take the stylus, pen, or your index finger and trace the symbol of Mercury on the card. I don’t recommend actually drawing on the card – hold the pen a few centimeters above the card and trace it in the air. You can see the symbol in the above image.
Visualize the pen leaving a glittering trail of orange-gold light. See the symbol glowing on the card afterwards.
Lock eyes with the figure in the card, the magician, as they peer out from the symbol on the card.
Greet them in your own fashion. Introduce yourself, and explain what you’re studying and why. Tell them a little about your goals and methods for achieving them.
Ask that they bless you with their intellect. Be polite, and thank them from the bottom of your heart. Then, tuck the card into your book, tablet case, or notebook. If you’re not able to do this, keep the card nearby while studying.
A tarot spread for the busy student who needs to get their priorities straight.
What is the largest or most important academic obligation I have right now?
What do I need to do to fulfill this obligation or tackle the challenges it has presented me with?
What other academic obligations do I need to remember as I work on this larger task?
How can I implement self care into my academic work?
How can I balance my academic obligations with self care and the non-academic aspects of my life?
I’m dipping the toes in the waters of spread crafting with this one. I’ve been using it to help sort and filter through all my many projects and assignments now that I’m a senior. I hope it’s helpful!
