im searing for a list of spells that require no ingredients. I am a college witch who hasn’t worked in a month but want to practice. thanks ❤

This is a really interesting topic. So literally NO ingredients spells, I would look for the following:

1. Spoken Spells or Spoken Charms (there’s actually a lot of interesting intersection between written and spoken charm and how to take a visual spell like the traditional abracadabra spell and make it a spoken charm)

2. Visualization spells / Meditation Spells

These are more like the type of spell you would see that was floating around in the 00s, something where visualization is primarily centric to the casting.

3. Energy Manipulation Spells

So things like using energy manipulation techniques to build out around a spell concept. Charging or tasking let’s say, energy orbs to do a particular purpose

Spells that I think you can do with some of the ingredients that a college student would have access to:

1. Paper spells

2. Ink Spells / Art / Drawing / Doodles spells

Under this umbrella is of course, certain symbols, sigils, talismans (like the abracadabra traditional spell), and other art pieces, but specifically I’m talking like pens, pencils, and other forms of physical media that are directly accessible.

3. Written Spells

Including as I mentioned above the abracadabra, but not necessarily all of that. For instance, a second ingredient to this is the method to write with. So for instance, Water + finger or Water + some hand held thing, and using that to write things with. Writing things on a plate with water, holding the plate over a container, and washing a bit more water over it, and then drinking or using the enchanted water because it’s for is now “written and fluid”

4. Charging / Talismanic Tasking

So taking something you already have, and charging it in some way or tasking it to do some action in some way. So enchanting it directly. It’s an “ingredient” you already own, so like a paper clip, and enchanting it.

5. Food enchantment

Like stirring your water a certain way, chanting over or praying over your food, etc.

There are of course others, but I don’t have the time to list them all, but just some examples of that which you can look up on your own times. Depending on the college, you may have access to JSTOR papers which can also add to some folkloric and older styles of spells that may be more accessible then newer spells that require a lot of tooling because they were inspired by ritual magic.

😍 a million and one times thanks
