I call this my “instant panic relief pouch” (IPRP). It’s an idea I took from learning about self-soothing, which I’ve posted about in the past. I decided to experiment with ways that I could self-sooth on the go when I sensed oncoming panic or fear. For me, feelings of panic come up both at home and when I’m out at work, school, or with friends. If you feel uncomfortable panic or anxiety coming up, take a couple of minutes to yourself and go over the things in your pouch. Right now my pouch contains:
one scent (right now I’m using cherry!)
a worry stone
a paper filled with little quotes too personal to be worth posting.
Bottled cents can usually be purchased at your local health food store. I tend to change them up because if I use one for too long, it becomes less effective for me. I keep the worry stone because when feeling high anxiety, panic, or fear I tend to take it out on my hands the most– clenching or wringing them a lot. The stone is cool and soothing and less strenuous on my hands. It also appeals to the sense of ‘touch’.
The most effective way to use an IPRP is to customize it to your needs. Pick out things you find soothing. I keep everything in the separate pouch for safety (in case the glass bottle breaks) but also because that makes it much easier to find. If you’re feeling jittery the last thing you want is to be digging around for small items in your purse like a lunatic, amiright?
If anyone likes the idea and comes up with a neat variation feel free to post it or send it to me and I’ll put it up to share with everyone!
Envy and jealousy can sneak up on people and it can cause some serious damage emotionally and even physically! Stop comparing yourself to others, because no life is exactly the same – we each have our own obstacles and challenges to accomplish. So when you start to think the grass is greener on the other side, think about your own goals, nurture and take care of your side of the yard, because the more blessings you count in your life, the more beautiful flowers will flourish!!
This is probably the most inspiring thing I’ve seen in a while. 🙂
LITERALLY the BEST advice for any artist, ever! Heck, anyone, ever, but especially creatives, because in the world of subjectivity, art reigns supreme. But what someone likes and considers successful, someone else might not! They might think YOU are successful instead, and want to further your art growth! Artists compare each others’ work a lot, and I mean golly I’m a victim of compare/contrast every day, but what’s important is to find others who inspire you, and when you are inspired, you will be surprised at who you inspire in return! Surround yourself with people who wish to work with you, to make your work better (and of course, people you are comfortable with returning the favor)! Having that extra positivity can work wonders!
So don’t compare! Everyone is different, unique, and learns at a different pace! Work together and share knowledge, and you’ll be amazed at how quickly you grow and others grow around you.
My order from @mossofthewoodsjewelry arrived! Everything was packaged beautifully and the jewelry itself is stunning. The other one is a gift for my friend so I didn’t open it, but I’m sure it’s just as stunning!
Thank you so much for the lovely photos! I’m so glad you like it, and I know it’s been a while since you posted this but I really hope your friend liked theirs as well!
The other one was equally as beautiful and my friend really loves it! We’re both plant nerds so we have a lot of plant inside jokes and the necklace I got for them had one of the plants 😄
Jesus H. Roosevelt Christ I hate this hellsite sometimes.
Yo! I got the same ask this morning. WTAF.
Me going through my ask box when I know it’s gonna have shit like this:
I normally keep the weirdo asks I get. I don’t publish them, but I keep them, and giggle. But this one was too disturbing even for me, lol.
I wish I could say this is the worst one I’ve gotten. I deleted the worst ones and blocked them from my mind 😂
While we’re on this wonderful topic, did anyone else deal with that trend where porn blogs asked witches for spells/magic to “fatten them up”? I got a good 20+ messages and still get the occasional message.
