Hello! I hate to bother you but is there any way you could link to your most recent list of your bedridden witch series? Or is there somewhere I can go for it? I want to reblog them in a row but I’m never sure if the list is up to date since some of the reblogs and stuff I see are rather old. Thank you!

No problem! It’s been a little while since I’ve made any because my health has been so poor (which is fitting for the theme of my posts haha). Here’s all of the bedridden witch posts I’ve made so far, I hope to have a few more written soon! ❤

What’s your take on pagans (and/or) witches being an oppressed minority?

I think I’m not a qualified person to talk about this, as I am a cis, white, middle class, straight-passing, able-passing individual who has never experienced oppression due to who I am. Let’s look at the definition of oppression:

Oppression can refer to an authoritarian regime controlling its citizens via state control of politics, the monetary system, media, and the military; denying people any meaningful human or civil rights; and terrorizing the populace through harsh, unjust punishment, and a hidden network of obsequious informants reporting to a vicious secret police force.

Oppression also refers to a less overtly malicious pattern of subjugation, although in many ways this social oppression represents a particularly insidious and ruthlessly effective form of manipulation and control. In this instance, the subordination and injustices do not afflict everyone—instead it targets specific groups of people for restrictions, ridicule, and marginalization. No universally accepted term has yet emerged to describe this variety of oppression, although some scholars will parse the multiplicity of factors into a handful of categories, e.g., social (or sociocultural) oppression; institutional (or legal) oppression; and economic oppression.”

And here’s a bit more on what social oppression is.

I will acknowledge one thing: Witchcraft can be controversial. I have had people become hateful or strongly opinionated about my practice and I’ve been in situations where it felt risky for me to talk about it, so I stayed quiet. There are people who won’t understand and may lash out (this is true with most things). But I feel that isn’t anywhere close to being the same thing as oppression.

I would welcome the viewpoint of people who are part of an oppressed minority if anyone feels called to add on or share a different opinion. I don’t want my voice and opinion to be the loudest and only one seen just because I have a lot of followers!

If you’re in a place of privilege (like me) and feel strongly against what I’m saying, I’d encourage you to reflect on why that is. There is nothing glamorous about being oppressed and a common theme I see with people who experience the guilt of being more privileged than others is they will find a way to consider themselves less privileged. Privilege isn’t inherently a bad thing, it just shouldn’t exist. Where we are right now is something everyone deserves and it’s our role to fight for that, not to hide and try to convince ourselves we’re less privileged than we are.

Hi Mouse! So yesterday my dad had a pretty serious car accident but luckily he is fine. Because of this I’m thinking of making protection sachets for my mom and dad but I don’t really know what to put in them, any advice? Btw I love your blog so much, it has helped me out a lot. 💖

Oh I’m so thankful to hear that your dad is okay!

I have a whole section on safe travels and protection while traveling in this post, hopefully it will help you and your family continue to stay happy, healthy and safe in the world of heavy machinery! (Click me!)

Hello!✨💖 I’ve tried looking but can’t seem to find anything, does Hestia have a sacred day or is there a day that is associated with Her?🔥🏠🙏 Im trying to make a schedule, for example my self care routine is done on Friday bc thats Aphrodites sacred day, and I was wondering if there was a day for Hestia so that could be my more thorough cleaning day. 😊🙌🌱

I am not aware of their being a specific day that is sacred to Hestia. I’ve found this to be a common theme with Hestia. She is lesser known and mentioned in many myths, but she was such an integral part of worship that she became a part of people’s everyday lives and worship (she’s the keeper of the sacrificial flame and the first part of each offering is given to her).

It sounds like having a specific day would be helpful for you (although it’s not necessary!), so I’d recommend picking the day that feels right and making it your personal sacred day to her!

I was wondering if you’d know some of the best ways to implement the theoi into marriage or a wedding. I’d like my SO and I to get married in January which I’ve read is significant to Hera, and I’m also planning on wearing a hairpin that’s like this super cute peacock feather, but I was wondering if you have any other ideas? Thank you!

  • Hera’s other sacred items include lions, cows, cuckoos, pomegranates, lotus and scepters.
  • You could find a way to incorporate and honor Hymenaios, Greek god of weddings (here’s a link to a helpful page).
  • Something that could be very powerful and meaningful is if you wrote a prayer to the Theoi for your wedding day (X)
  • You could leave a table open or create an altar to place a plate or two of your wedding food out for the gods.

I’m sure there’s so many other things out there, so I’d love to hear other people’s ideas!!

Hello! I’ve been wanting to acquire a tarot deck of my own for a while, but when I asked my parents yesterday, they shot me down saying that they don’t want “bad and spooky witchy voodoo” in the house ;-; Do you have any good reasons for why tarot isn’t like that? I just want to discuss it out but I can’t think of what to say since I’m still a newbie with tarot,,, Thank you! :’D

  • Perhaps you could tell them that historically, tarot cards were created as a game. (They did get discovered by the occult as a divination tool and have been used as that.)
  • That in the scale of human history, tarot is in fact quite new!
  • You could tell them that many people use them as a tool for self reflection, as a way to physically see what’s going on in their heads. It could almost be compared to meditation.
  • You could tell them that tarot cards are rarely used to commune with spirits and deities, and to do so there needs to be intention behind it.
  • You could tell them they’re simply for divination (and that you think it would be fun to see how close they are at “guessing” the future.)
  • Or you could just not tell them and have your own discreet deck!

Hello, I’ve done some perusing around some witch blogs (sorry if that’s not the correct term) and I have to say I’m fairly interested in learning about witchcraft (If that’s the term) but as you can probably tell I have absolutely no beginner knowledge. Can you tell me where I might be able to start? Maybe some simple things to start out with to get a feel for it, possibly things that require just spoken word, meditation, and common material? I would very much appreciate any direction you have.

That’s the correct term! And welcome to the community! 🙂

I have an FAQ series that may give you a helpful starting point, but I’d love to hear if there are any burning questions you have that didn’t get answered, or if there are any main things that I’m missing. It’s always a work in progress!
